The Friends Christmas Party, December 2011
This year we have more volunteers because of the Volunteer Project and we also wecomed other hospital volunteers which made a jolly evening much enjoyed by all who attended. Many thanks to those who helped by setting out, serving, clearang up and making delicious things to eat.
The Friends Christmas Fair, December 2011
Our annual fair took place on 7th December 2011. This was another very cheeerful event with our usual stalls: bottle tombola, Christmas decorations, gifts, cakes and home-made produce, toys, books, crafts and needlework, bric-a-brac and raffle.
Very many thanks to all those who helped organise such a good event, to all stall organisers and their helpers on the day and to all those who came and spent their money.
Special thanks to Father Christmas who paid a visit, and to students from The Imperial College School of Medicine Music Society who came to sing carols in the afternoon.
Festival of Carols, December 2011
Our annual event shared with The Friends of The Royal Brompton Hospital and The Friends of The Royal Marsden Hospital took place on December 6 at Holy Trinity Church, Sloane Square.
Greg Hands MP, Griff Rhys Jones and Valentine Warner were the guest readers and pupils from Redcliffe were the guest choir. We are most grateful to all those who took part and attended this beautiful event.
ICSMMS Concerts, November 2011
The Imperial College School of Medicine Music Society gave two concerts in November to support The Friends.
The Choral concert on Nvember 19 included Handel's Coronation Anthem and highlights fom Chicago and the orchestral concert on November 24 included Borodin's Symphony No2 and Vaughan Williams Folk Song Suite.
We are most grateful to these medical students, who are also musicians, for giving up their time from their studies to support The Friends.

Hospital Annual Members Meeting, 15 Spetember, 2011
This hospital event included presentations from the Chairman, Sir Christopher Edwards; Chief Executive, Heather Lawrence; Financial Report, Governors' Report and a presentation about The Friends Patient Support Project.
Friends Annual General Meeting, 18 May 2011
Many Members of The Friends attended our AGM. The Guest Speaker was Jeremy Booth of the hospital Accident and Emergency Department who gave a lively talk and thanked The Friends for their support of his Department and of the hospital. The meeting was followed by a reception for Friends and guests in the Academic Atrium. We are grateful to our President, Lord Cadogan, for chairing the meeting. Among other guests who attended were Sir Christopher Edwards, Chairman of the hospital Trust, and Lady Barbara Bossom, Vice President of The Friends.
Hospital Open Day, May 7 2011
Many thanks to all those who supported our stall at the hospital Open Day. This is always a very happy day, celebrating and showcasing the hospital and its partner organisations.
